  • What’s the difference between SQL and HANA versions of B1?

SQL is a database run by Microsoft, while HANA is a database run by SAP. This means that new innovations by SAP will be developed for and deployed in HANA (and will not be available on SQL).

While HANA is slightly pricier than SQL, it offers more functionalities such as additional dashboards for finance, sales and marketing, purchasing and customer service, an enterprise “Google-like” search function and more. HANA also does not require a separate database for analytics, unlike SQL, hence it is significantly less complex than the SQL database.

In fact, with HANA’s in-memory database, you will gain faster access to the information you need as HANA’s data is stored directly on RAM memory chips close to the processor as compared to SQL’s data which is store on a hard-disk. Access times for data on RAM is 100 times faster compared to access times for hard-disk. The difference becomes specifically visible as the number of users and transactions grows.

  • How does B1 compare to Xero/QuickBooks/MYOB?

Xero, QuickBooks and MYOB are pure accounting software which are mainly focused on the small business market, while SAP Business One is an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software that is able to cater to the needs of small and mid-sized businesses alike.

While pure accounting software may be great for early stage and single entity businesses, many growing small businesses find that they need something more sophisticated, such as SAP Business One, to support their business and provide company-wide visibility as they grow and increase in complexity.

With SAP Business One, you will also have the option of choosing your preferred hosting environment – on-premise or cloud.

Chat with us or email us to find out how SAP Business One fits your business today.

  • What’s the difference between on-premise and cloud hosting?

SAP Business One on-premise is hosted on your own servers, while SAP Business One on cloud is hosted on Axxis Consulting’s very own servers (which is powered by Equinix – the world’s largest IBX data centre & colocation provider).

To be able to use on-premise hosting, you will be required to have your own servers, as well as your own IT manpower to maintain your hardware.

Essentially, for companies who do not own their own servers and with limited manpower, we recommend cloud-hosting, which would be a less costly option.

Read this blog to find out more.

  • How quickly can SAP Business One be up and running?

The amount of time it takes to set up your SAP Business One system depends on your industry, your company’s requirements and the complexity of your system (customisation needs, additional features and modules). To find out how long your setup might take, simply email your requirements or request for a consultation [email protected].

  • For on-premise hosting, do you help maintain our hardware?

Unfortunately, Axxis Consulting does not provide services to maintain your hardware if you are running SAP Business One on premise. We recommend you to choose SAP Business One on cloud instead if you lack the resources to maintain your hardware.

  • Do you implement B1 outside of Singapore & Malaysia?

Yes, we implement SAP Business solutions in other countries outside Singapore and Malaysia as well. However, we are only able to do so if your company has an entity already present in Singapore or Malaysia.

  • What type of companies use SAP Business One?

SAP Business One is a solution specially designed for small and midsized businesses (SMEs), and is localised to your country-specific legal requirements. It is perfect for companies who have outgrown legacy systems or simple accounting-only software, such as Xero, MYOB or Quickbooks. No matter which industry or level of growth your business is at, SAP Business One is able to tailor to your business’ needs and complexity. And the best part – SAP Business One grows with your business.

  • Do you offer SAP Business One training for all users?

Yes, we do! To ensure your smooth transition into SAP Business One, training is included for all users who choose us as their implementation partner.

Alternatively, if you are looking for SAP Business One as a standalone service, Axxis Consulting does provide this service as well. Simply email us with your requirements for a consultation.
