Introduction

Jamiyah Singapore, also known as Muslim Missionary Society Singapore, was founded in 1932 with the vision and mission to serve the community and to provide welfare services to the less privileged and disadvantaged from all walks of life. The organisation grew over the years, expanding its programmes and services to address the ever-changing needs of the community. Jamiyah has a rich history that is replete with significant milestones, marking its achievements in services that include its welfare homes, education centres, and welfare services.

"SAP Business One with AWS is a platform where our company can grow. It provides Jamiyah with a robust donation process that on the long term will be increasingly efficient. – Niklesh Gupta, Finance Consultant"

The Challenge

As the organisation grew, Jamiyah Singapore realised that the centres under them each used a different accounting system and kept separate records of their operations. As a result, this made the invoice generation and tracking procedure less efficient and led to difficulties in information sharing across different centres. Jamiyah also realised that due to the lack of an efficient system, they had difficulties tracking with large volumes of donations that come in during busy periods such as Ramadan.

The Solution

Jamiyah needed a system that could consolidate information and standardise all the different processes used for transaction, invoicing and donations by each centre into one common system. Jamiyah also wanted a system that was mobile, allowing their employees to access it at any point in time, anywhere. As such, Jamiyah Singapore chose SAP Business One’s AWS-hosted integrated cloud ERP solution due to its reliable, scalable and secure features.

During the implementation process, Axxis Consulting went to each centre to understand each of their specific requirements. Axxis Consulting helped Jamiyah to customise the solution to include unique features, such as a feature to facilitate the donation process, that the standard SAP Business One solution did not have.

The Results

With all the information consolidated into a common data base and the processes standardised across the organisation, it has made business process and existing procedures much easier and quicker than before. The solution helped Jamiyah to reduce redundant costs and minimise existing IT costs, hence making better use of funds given to them by donors.

In addition, by using the cloud solution, Jamiyah employees are allowed the flexibility to access information they need anytime, anywhere.

Since the solution is scalable, SAP Business One allows Jamiyah to maintain the flexibility of adding new users and additional modules anytime they need as the organisation grows.
